Not behind white tablecloths or in fine-dining restaurants, but on the pavement, eaten by hand, with sauce running down your fingers. La Calle brings those flavors to Utrecht. Inspired by generations of family recipes and the rich street-food traditions of Latin America, we cook with authenticity, respect, and care. No fusion, no shortcuts. Just the right ingredients, traditional techniques, and recipes that have been passed down around family tables for years.

Our grandmothers' kitchens were our first classrooms. It was there that we began to experiment with the flavors of our ancestors, and where they passed down their passion for making others happy through cooking and full stomachs. They guided us to discover true seasoning (el sazón), continuing a ritual that had been carried out generation after generation. But in our case, it was a little different: we were men, and tradition dictated that these secrets were taught to the women, just as had been done with our mother.

Yet our love for good food was innate, and we continued to cultivate it over the years, this time by the side of our mother, the rightful heir to our family's culinary secrets and techniques. Thanks to her, we fully understood the importance of educating the palate and mastering a rich palette of flavors to achieve our ultimate goal: to cook, to delight, and to eat well. That is exactly how we were raised.

At La Calle, we prepare the dishes we grew up with and the flavors that remind us of home. Although our food is made to take away, our purpose remains the same: to bring people together.
